Security

I. Purpose

The Security Department exists to protect all assets, personnel, infrastructure, and operations across static and mobile installations. In the ever-hostile environment of Star Citizen, where every outpost is a potential target, security isn’t a luxury—it’s the foundation of operational continuity.

Security operates not only as a reactive force but as a preemptive shield. It is the watchful eye, the ready hand, and the hard counter to threats ranging from pirates and wildlife to corporate sabotage and full-scale invasion. In base building, Security ensures that what’s built stays standing—and that those within it remain in control.

II. Core Functions

  1. Perimeter Defense & Patrols

    • Secure boundaries, conduct routine patrols, and man defensive positions to maintain a physical deterrent presence.

  2. Threat Detection & Surveillance

    • Deploy sensors, drones, motion detectors, and quantum signature scanners for early threat detection and situational awareness.

  3. Rapid Response & QRF (Quick Reaction Force)

    • Maintain on-call fireteams capable of responding to breaches, raids, or system failures within minutes.

  4. Access Control & Internal Security

    • Monitor access points, maintain security protocols for personnel and visitors, and detect internal threats such as infiltration, espionage, or mutiny.

  5. Asset Escort & Protection

    • Provide armed protection for high-value transport convoys, VIPs, sensitive operations, and mobile acquisition units in hostile territory.

  6. Defensive Infrastructure Integration

    • Coordinate with Infrastructure to place turrets, shield emitters, bunker points, kill zones, and emergency lockdown systems.

  7. Intelligence & Recon Operations

    • Conduct scouting and recon missions to assess external threats, monitor factional movements, and gather intel for strategic planning.

III. Strategic Objectives

  • Maintain total threat readiness through layered defense systems and active force deployment.

  • Provide deterrence through presence, reputation, and overwhelming response capacity.

  • Support base integrity by preventing disruption of operations, supply chains, or personnel.

  • Develop adaptive protocols to counter both conventional and asymmetric threats, including cyberwarfare and stealth incursions.

IV. Departmental Structure

  • Base Defense Division – Manages fixed-site defenses, patrol schedules, and ground security systems.

  • Mobile Response Division – Handles quick reaction forces, field ops, and convoy security.

  • Recon & Surveillance Division – Conducts external scans, perimeter sweeps, and intelligence collection.

  • Internal Enforcement Division – Monitors internal threats, handles contraband, and enforces code of conduct.

  • Strategic Security Planning Division – Develops SOPs, threat simulations, and contingency protocols in coordination with other departments.

Mission Statement

"To defend what we build, deter what would destroy it, and dominate any who try."
